Albums
The discography of the American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and several compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.
Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark the 20th anniversary of the band. The band dug through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans and the band went on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
Shem Von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
